A handful of new customers for CODU Automation

Successful sales campaign with Esdoorn de Vries leads to an expansion of the customer base for CODU Automatisering.

Vincent Korbijn, founder of CODU Automatisering, looks back with satisfaction on the cooperation with Esdoorn de Vries. As a fast-growing automation company, he was looking for a way to broaden his customer base and reduce dependence on one major customer. Thanks to a targeted sales campaign by Esdoorn de Vries, five new customers were brought in. How did this process go and what did it deliver? Vincent shares his story.

From sole proprietorship to growing team

CODU Automation saw the light of day in September 2019, when Vincent started as a self-employed person. “Initially, I worked two days a week in addition to my permanent job,” he says. “But it quickly became busier. Within a short time, I went all out for myself.”

The switch from separate hours to accepted projects brought new challenges. “I had to work smarter to make a profit,” Vincent explains. “The growth went well, but when one customer accounted for 80% of our turnover, the urgency became clear that we needed to spread more. If that customer were to drop out, that would have major consequences.”

To create more stability, Vincent decided it was time to expand his customer base. But cold acquisition wasn't his strong suit. “I know where my strength lies, and that's not in sales,” he laughs. “That's why I decided to get help.”

A technical click from the start

Through an online search, Vincent ended up at Esdoorn de Vries. What caught his eye right away? Their technical background. “From the first moment, they understood what we do and what target groups we want to reach,” he says. “That made working together easy: you're immediately on the same page.”

The process started with optimizing Vincent's LinkedIn profile. A targeted outreach campaign was then set up. “A total of about a thousand invitations were sent out,” Vincent explains. “This resulted in five to six new customers, with whom we can tackle dozens of projects.”

A boost for new projects

The new customers not only give CODU Automatisering more stability, but also room for further growth. “Two projects have now started, and I expect the others to follow soon. “In addition, we were able to hire new project leaders, which enables us to continue to grow.”

“They deliver on what they promise”

Vincent looks back on the process with a positive feeling. “What I particularly liked was that I worked with two technically savvy specialists. You noticed that in every step of the customer journey. They were on the same page and knew exactly what they were talking about.”

The reliability of the consultants at Esdoorn de Vries also impresses. “When they promise something, they also deliver. That sounds obvious, but it isn't anymore.”
